Bat Windsock I do not recall where I got this from exactly but it is not my design and I cannot take credit for it but it is a cute thing to make. I did improvise though and made a round piece which I sewed to the underbelly and to which I sewed thicker ribbons. I made a few of these and hung them from my trees in my yard for halloween along with the tea light lanterns which are on another page. Supplies:1-1/4 yd. black fabric Spool O' Ribbon, 2 of each: orange white black 3 handfuls stuffing Orange & black 1/2" buttons Orange DMC floss Scraps of yellow & orange fabric for cheeks Directions: Enlarge bat 400%. Cut out 2 bat patterns from black fabric. Sew together with 1/4" seam, leave opening. Turn, lightly stuff & stitch closed. Use orange floss to stitch mouth and eyes. Cut ribbon 24" for streamers & 1 for hanger. Divide ribbons evenly by color, 1 set for each point. Hold in place at point & stitch button & ribbons onto wing. Stitch hanger ribbons on two points at top of bat. For cheeks: glue or stitch on squares of fabric as shown.
